Perinatal Mental Health
You are not alone
I have a special interest in working with men and women, whether you are mums and dads to be or are already parents who may be struggling or feeling in distress about any aspect of the parenthood journey. A journey that can be filled with joy but also with anxiety, sadness and loss.
I am part of an international collective of experienced counsellors/therapists dedicated to offering psychotherapeutic support for everyone embarking on the joys, challenges and losses of the transformative journey of parenthood. From the earliest moments of pregnancy and at every stage that follows.
My approach to counselling is Relational and based on the theory of Transactional Analysis with focus on relationships, communication and healing; you are at the heart of this process. I believe the most important relationship you will ever have is with yourself and your emotional well being depends on how you feel about you. If you’re okay this can positively influence your closest relationships.
Perinatal Focus Areas
Pregnancy, birth trauma, IVF, infertility, miscarriage, termination, maternal preoccupation, depression in the postnatal period, relationship issues, anxiety, contemplating becoming a parent, societal/family pressures to have children and bonding and attachment.
My Commitment to Good Practice
I am committed to offering good practice and hold full Professional Liability Insurance. This includes personal indemnity and public liability and covers my work both face to face, online and by telephone.
I am a professionally qualified Counsellor and a member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). I am bound by its code of ethics and practice and subject to its complaints procedure.
