What is Counselling?
Counselling is a process people seek when they want to change something in their lives, or simply explore their thoughts and feelings in more depth.
It's a little bit like an MOT for your mind; it can bring clarity and understanding, helping you to see things as they really are so you can make lasting changes in your life.
How does it work?
The aim of counselling is to help you to talk about any difficulties you are facing in a safe and confidential environment.
By working together I can encourage you to talk about what's bothering you in order to uncover any root causes and identify your specific ways of thinking.
I will be guided by you to empower you to make your own choices, to reach your own decisions and act upon them.
By increasing your awareness of self and your relationships gives you the opportunity to learn, grow and develop, enhancing your life and enabling you to live it more fully.
What happens after I book a session?
Once we have agreed an appointment for your first session I will send you an email providing you with my counselling agreement which gives you a little more information about what I do, your counselling, payment and confidentiality etc.
Our First Session
Our first session gives you an opportunity to meet me and explore the issues you are facing. I believe in the healing power of the relationship so it’s important you feel I am the right fit for you. If you trust me, you can truly be yourself helping you to talk openly about your thoughts, feelings and experiences.
Please note that I am currently conducting sessions via the online video platform called Zoom and will resume face to face meetings once it's safe to do so.
If you need any help setting up Zoom on your phone, tablet or laptop, please let me know and I will be happy to talk you through it.
Telephone counselling is a great alternative and gives you the flexibility to FaceTime, walk and talk if you're struggling to find a confidential space in your home or for those who may not have internet.
